I have been on many trips to Cuba and the Cayo Coco, and Cayo Guillermo region is a favourite of mine. This year I had a chance to visit numerous hotels in the area and the Iberostar Daiquiri was on the list. In this post, I have all the details about the hotel, its recent renovations and its excellent beach.
Iberostar Daiquiri, Cayo Guillermo Location
Located in Cayo Guillermo in the Jardine del Rey region of Cuba, the Iberostar Daiquiri is approximately 38 km or an hour’s drive from the Cayo Coco Airport. It may be smaller and more compact, but it still offers a quality 4-star vacation experience.
Very similar in size to its sister property the Iberostar Mojito, the Daiquiri is great for those who want a more intimate experience and don’t want to walk through a sprawling resort.

Iberostar Daiquiri Standard Room
I did not get to see a room at the Daiquiri that said all the other properties I visited in the region were newly renovated rooms in excellent condition. The photo above was provided by Iberostar; please let me know in the comments below if this is not the case.
- Room features include:
- Hairdryer
- Safe
- Phone
- Coffee/tea
- Minibar
- Terrace
Iberostar Daiquiri, Cayo Guillermo Dining Options
We had a special lunch at the Mexican A la Carte restaurant which was promising. A general problem in Cuba is that fish and meat is almost always over-cooked. On this trip, I stayed at some Iberostar properties, and I’m happy to report… the food is improving.
There are other restaurants on the property which include a buffet, a beach buffet and grill.
- La Marina Beach Buffet restaurant
- Guillermo Buffet restaurant
- Gregorio Mexican a-la-carte
Iberostar Daiquiri Beach Area
There is a bit of competition between the Iberostar Daiquiri and the Iberostar Mojito on which of the two has the best beach in Cayo Coco, In my opinion, the Mojito resort had the best beach, however, the walk to the beach was much shorter at the Iberostar Daiquiri.

There was also a beautiful boardwalk with overwater huts where you could sit and lounge right off the main entrance to the beach. It was a trendy spot for photography and a great place to sit directly over the ocean.
There was a lot of activity on the beach which was a favourite spot for windsurfers. If you like long walks on the soft white sand beach, you will not be disappointed here.
Iberostar Daiquiri Pools
There are two pools at the Iberostar Daiquiri resort, the main pool and the children’s pool. The main pool spreads out along the middle of the resort and had lots of shade and beach chairs. There were also some swim-up pool bars at the pool.
Iberostar Daiquiri Other Amenities
Other amenities at the Iberostar Daiquiri Cayo Coco include:
- Fitness room, sauna
- Children’s playground
- Watersports, scuba diving (fee)
- Beauty salon (fee), massages (fee)
- Onsite medical (fee)
